Events and Adventures Thailand Trip 2019

Thailand Trip Q&A

This February, Events & Adventures ventured out on a 14-day international trip to the exotic paradise of Thailand. What better way to learn about this amazing trip than hearing from the people that got to go on the adventure themselves?

We had a super fun Q & A with two of our members that joined Events & Adventures on our exciting Thailand trip: Rachel Wolfson from our Chicago Club and Susan Euing from our San Francisco Club. Here’s what they had to say about their time abroad with Events & Adventures:

Q: Have you ever been abroad before this trip?

R: Yes, but not with Events & Adventures. This was a first.

S: Yes, many times, but this was my first time with Events & Adventures.

Q: What was your favorite part of traveling with Events & Adventures?

R: My favorite part was meeting the different people from the other Events & Adventures locations and learning about Thailand from Natalie (our tour guide). It was fantastic exploring somewhere I had never been before.

S: The trip itinerary and it was a really great price!

Q: Out of all of the excursions you went on while in Thailand, which was your favorite and why?

R: I loved the floating river lodge. You got to be away from the rest of the world, no electricity, very peaceful while hearing the water underneath and relaxing overall. Also, we got to meet our first elephant, Wandi!

S: Personally, my favorite was the Hmong village. It was filled with very interesting people and culture.

Q: What was something unexpected that happened on the trip that left you pleasantly surprised?

R: When we got to play with baby tigers- they were so cute and surprisingly big at a month and a half old. I couldn’t believe the size of their paws at that age!

S: I had a wonderful and very compatible roommate. We are keeping up our new friendship even though we live two states away.

Q: Did you come back with any fun souvenirs?

R: A photo with frame (made out of recycled elephant dung) of one of my best friends from E&A and myself riding on U2, the elephant. We had lots of laughs on her and another elephant, as well as along the trip! Lots of great memories!

S: I bought a pig made out of rope for the year of the pig!

Q: If you could give someone going on Events & Adventures’s next Thailand trip a tip, what would it be?

R: Don’t be afraid to try something you’ve never done before. And make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes; there are lots of stairs! Try sitting with someone new each time you are sitting on the way to one of the spots you are going to explore so you can get to know them! you never know what type of similarities you might have!

S: Bring more dressy clothes than  you think you’ll need and get a full-body Thai massage!

Susan and Rachel’s amazing memories prove you can create lasting bonds while traveling the world with Events & Adventures. We can hardly wait for our next journey to a faraway land!

What exhilarating vacation will you be joining us on? Will you be floating down the Amazon River with us in August or staying stateside in NYC during the Holiday Season in November?

The number one requirement to come along? Join Events & Adventures! When you do, you get to live a life you love!

European Trip with Events & Adventures

Lezzlie’s Amazing European Trip

Read about our European trip from last fall through the eyes of Lezzlie, one of our great members

We just received a letter from one of our great members who joined us on our European trip last fall. We’re excited to share with you what she had to say:

“I loved it! I went on the Switzerland, Austria and Germany trip in September 2017 and I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun. The trip was very well planned. I would never have thought to do anything like that on my own. I also met some incredible people in the group who made the trip even more fun!

There were so many amazing things packed into the trip that it’s hard to remember them all

The area close to the hotel in Zurich was very quaint. Luckily, I found some girls who didn’t want to nap after lunch and we went bar hopping. Then we hung out in the hotel lobby with a bottle of wine which worked out wonderfully. No jetlag!

The bus tour of Zurich was very informative and gave us an opportunity to see some of the places farther away, while the walking part of the tour gave us the chance to experience the local sights. The highlights for me were the chocolates, cakes, and open air vegetable market.

The tour of Lucerne was fabulous

It’s such a charming city and we found some great beers there one Sunday morning.
The scenery was beautiful as we drove to Titlis. Once we got there, we all took the cable cars up to a giant rotating cable car near the top of the mountain. Also, at the top was a restaurant where we could arm ourselves with beers and food before enjoying Europe’s highest suspension bridge and the ice cave.

Lots of activities were offered in Interlakken, but we decided to take the train to Thun, which was very cool as well. There, I tasted the tiniest bite of horse tenderloin since one of the guys decided that was what he was ordering for dinner that night (gross…tasted like beef though).
Afterwards, one of us found the only nightclub in town and, of course, we closed the place down. It was a blast! Everyone was exhausted on the bus the next day.

The following day, we finally made it to Austria and found yet another club, partying until 4am or so. I missed the walking tour of Innsbruck the next morning, but one of the members took me on a personal tour later and pointed out the best sites as if she was the guide! It was a condensed version with a few bar stops in between. It was fun!

Then it was off to Neuschwanstein Castle, which was absolutely amazing (after you walked a mile or so up a steep hill and caught your breath). Coming down was much easier.

The scenery was beautiful and looked like it was right out of the Sound of Music

Lastly, we made it to Munich. Oktoberfest was incredible! Although Friday was fairly calm, we had lots of fun in the beer haus where we had lunch on Saturday.

Thanks so much, Events & Adventures, for this European trip, It was an unforgettable experience. I’m looking forward to Vietnam. If it’s anything close to this trip, it will be amazing! I can’t wait!”

Find Things to do on a Rainy Day in the Bay Area

Gloomy weather can ruin the moods of even the most optimistic of people, but at Events & Adventures we always find a way to make the most of our time together; no matter what the weather is like, we’ll always have things to do on a rainy day.

It’s happened to all of us—we plan a lovely day outdoors and then the weather decides to be a spoilsport; it begins pouring the night before and continues relentlessly for the next entire day, ruining your plans entirely! When you’re in that situation it’s very easy to fall into a sour mood and wonder what to do to make the day a little less disastrous. That’s where Events & Adventures comes in. We planned a weekend of outdoor adventures, and a little rain didn’t stop us from making the most of our weekend.

On Saturday, a group of us went up to wine country to try a variety of wine from some of the local wineries and educated ourselves on the different varietals. Even though we couldn’t play any of the lawn games because of the weather, we still made the best of it. We shared cheese, crackers, wine and great conversation. Meanwhile in the South Bay, our members turned a flag football game into a successful day of mudball. The rain was coming down hard and our members were playing even harder. Wet and wild was definitely the theme of the day.

Then on Sunday, Raider, Chucky and Buster led our way through the rain. These were some of the horses that members got to ride at Garrod Farms as they enjoyed a trail ride. It was drizzling a bit but this did not stop us from taking in the beautiful landscapes. The trails allowed us to wander through vineyards and oak chaparral forests teeming with wildlife. In the South bay nothing was going to stop us from hiking through that redwood forest and enjoying nature and the company of our fellow members.

So next time you’re looking for things to do on a rainy day, let Events & Adventures create the kind of experience that you’ve always craved.

Live Your Bucket List With Events & Adventures Phoenix

What’s on your bucket list? Skydiving? A trip to Peru?  How about visiting Australia, the Amazon, Cuba or Ireland? Maybe even river rafting at the Grand Canyon or facing your fear of heights on a zipline? Events & Adventures has done all of this, and a lot more. We have a “bucket list-worthy” activity every month. In fact, this month alone our club is going skydiving, white water rafting, horseback riding, whale watching and visiting Ireland, with trips to Spain and the Grand Canyon coming up later this year!

Every person should have the adrenaline-filled adventure of jumping and falling gracefully from a perfectly good airplane, taking a kayak into the river and feeling the sheer force of the elements at its finest, or flying high above the ground on a zipline.  But don’t worry, if an adrenaline rush isn’t your thing we can find another kind of adventure that’s more your speed. For example, maybe a trip to Ireland where you and 30 of your new friends will explore the Irish country-side and partake in local St. Patrick’s Day celebrations? And then later this year we will tour the old world historic cities of Spain and take a peek into the frozen in time island of Cuba!  We also plan to take a boat up the Amazon River and witness the wonders of the untouched civilizations of the rainforest.

Once you’ve checked off everything on your current bucket list alongside Events & Adventures you’ll have time to create a new one.  With Events & Adventures you have the opportunity to have experiences you never thought possible for yourself, adventures that are more thrilling and exciting than you could possibly have dreamed.  This all happens while you are making new friends both in your city and around the world.  So whether you are an adrenaline junkie, or a quiet explorer, Events & Adventures can be your ticket to the life and experiences you’ve always wanted.

Camping with Events & Adventures

Find Adventure and Friendship with Events & Adventures

Camping is the cure for everything.

Go camping, get outdoors, set plans and make them happen. Spending your free time sleeping outside may not sound amazing on paper, but the fresh air and tranquility of our Texas State Parks is what you’ve been missing (and it’s even better in the company of new friends). Events & Adventures Houston has gone on 25 camping trips and no one has ever regret coming along. We’ve dealt with storms, unexpected cold, droughts, and floods. But the unexpected challenges are just a way for us to come together and share a real experience; so you aren’t just meeting new people, but also building relationships.

Camping with other adults is something most people don’t get to experience. The uniqueness of the experience is why we make it a point to go camping or do an overnight trip once a month for our members. Relaxing around a campfire brings out the best in us. It’s a place where we can take a deep breathe, relax and not worry about the city stress that keeps us down. It’s a place where meeting new people turns into more than just getting along with someone for the moment, but rather forming lasting relationships and really getting to know one another. When you’re camping—it’s just you, nature, and a bunch of great people, so you don’t have that stress of trying to be someone you’re not or looking a certain way. You just let yourself sink into the trees and the forest and experience freedom.

Huntsville State Park is one of our favorite spots to go camping. We go every February and this year the weather was perfect. We hiked the seven mile trail all the way around the lake. There were a lot of tired faces when we returned but the feeling of accomplishment outweighed our exhaustion. We paddle-boarded, canoed, rode horses, had campfires, celebrated birthdays, played games and took time to smell the roses.

Whatever you do this year we hope you visit as many of our wonderful State Parks as you can.  Do things that get you out of the house, and live a life you love.

E & A Singles Take Over Vegas!

Las Vegas 2015

Las Vegas 2015

Wow! 85 singles on our Long Weekend VIP Trip to Vegas. What a blast! We had VIP bottle service in the cabanas. We had a special reserved section with unlimited bar in an awesome club and we even had VIP bottle service at the Night Swim at XS (the #1 night club in the world) where we had  a balcony cabana that overlooked the pool and 5000 people partying to a nationally known DJ. It was so cool to make friends from the different E&A cities.  We traded numbers and plan on keeping in touch for future trips and to visit each other’s city. Everything ran so smooth. We were whisked into the VIP entrances so we didn’t have to wait to enter anywhere.  The team at I Love Vegas Enterprises worked great with the E&A members and staff to make sure we were all taken care of.  Can’t wait for the High Roller trip this fall!
